Since first shooting pictures with a Kodak Instamatic Pocket camera at around twelve years of age, I have always enjoyed taking pictures -- regardless of the subject. When I turned sixteen years of age, I upgraded to an SLR camera which made me feel like a "real photographer!" But, it took the next thirty years to really appreciate what photography brings to all of us - memories of people, places and other times in our lives that can never be replaced.
The word "photograph" was coined in 1839 by Sir John Herschel and is based on the Greek (phos) "light" and graphê "representation by means of lines" or "drawing", together meaning "drawing with light." With that in mind, always be enjoying the light and lines that life brings us everyday. If not, drawing those images in our mind at a later time may be harder than you think!
